Hello Max,
I am writing to suggest the implementation of an official game executable (l2.exe / l2.bin) with the Large Address Aware (LAA) flag enabled, or to request a whitelisted version for players experiencing crashes.
The Problem:
I have been experiencing frequent General Protection Fault (GPF) crashes, especially in crowded areas or after playing for a while. Looking at the crash logs, the engine reports 2047MB RAM at the time of the crash. Since the Lineage 2 client is a 32-bit application, it is hard-capped at 2GB of RAM by default. When the client's memory leak hits this ceiling, it results in an instant out-of-memory GPF.
The Blocker:
Usually, applying a "4GB Patch" or LAA Tool to the executable solves this issue by allowing the client to access up to 4GB of RAM. However, applying this patch manually modifies the executable, which rightfully triggers the Active Anticheat, preventing the game from launching.
The Request:
Could the development team please provide an official LAA-enabled executable and whitelist it in the Active Anticheat system? This would drastically improve client stability and eliminate the majority of memory-related GPF crashes for the entire community.
Thank you for your time and for the hard work on the server!
Best regards,
Lindalva
